Winning Souls and Making Disciples

OUR HISTORY

2003: A New Beginning

On January 1, 2003, we entered the New Year rejoicing as we embarked on a new journey with the establishment of Ambassadors for Christ Worship Assembly (AFCWA). During our first year, we gathered twice weekly at North Vista Elementary School in Florence, South Carolina.

On March 30, 2003, after completing the new members' class, Ambassadors for Christ officially inducted its first members, comprising approximately 40 adults and 25 children. That inaugural year was devoted to understanding and embracing the ministry’s vision and mission. The vision of AFCWA is to use every God-given gift, anointing, and resource to impact our communities and the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

2003: A New Home

In December 2003, we relocated to 1113 Oakland Avenue in Florence, South Carolina. This move provided greater opportunities to connect with the community and establish a strong leadership team. As the ministry of the Word of God expanded, more individuals joined the AFCWA family, becoming covenant partners in the vision.

As the Spirit of the Lord continued to reveal His perfect plan, our Pastor and Leading Lady shared the vision of building a sanctuary. We were challenged to pray and remain watchful for 10+ acres of land in the Florence County area.

2006: Sowing Into the Vision

In 2006, we took a united step toward this vision by pledging specific amounts before God to support the building project. Through faithful giving, the building fund grew steadily. After much prayer and searching, we identified a suitable property that once housed McMillan Nursery on Alligator Road in Florence, South Carolina.

2008: Breaking Ground

In February 2008, we held a groundbreaking ceremony at 2196 Alligator Road, the future home of Ambassadors for Christ Worship Assembly. The property exceeded our expectations in size and resources, including an abundance of trees and shrubs, which were used as seed money for the building fund. We continued to pray, plan, and sow faithfully.

2009: Dedication of the Sanctuary

Within a year, construction was completed, and on May 3, 2009, we consecrated and dedicated our beautifully erected sanctuary to the Lord. This house was set apart for the work of the Kingdom and the glory of God.

2013–2015: Growth in Vision

In 2013, God led us into a new phase of ministry: the implementation of the cell vision through the government of 12. This vision focuses on equipping every believer to become a true disciple of Jesus Christ, win 12 others to the Lord, and train them to do the same. The cell groups flourished in 2014. By 2015, as we celebrated our 12th anniversary, we continued to grow spiritually and numerically, advancing the ministry of reconciliation.

2024: Looking Ahead

As we mark 20 years of ministry in 2023, we anticipate lives being transformed and every covenant partner reaching their God-given destiny through Christ Jesus. Year after year, the Spirit of the Lord challenges us to deepen our passion for Him and our compassion for others. With great expectation, we look forward to seeing the Lord bring an increase in souls and resources for the advancement of His Kingdom.
